Your proposed modifications sound okay, make sure that your new levels are unique. Creating new backgrounds should be good. Not sure what is meant by new audio sources, if you are making new sound effects that will be good or adding several sound effects that you've pulled from elsewhere to a part of the game where none existed before that could also be good.
